Big data to aid in fighting rare dispersonalized armbandseases

Rv Road Trip Idea - Country Music Hall Of Fame I like to visit with my friends and I like to cook and when I put these two things together it is called a party. I have never thought of myself as an event planner but I do love to plan parties at my home and I have become quite efficient at it. Trust me I am no Martha Stewart and lets face it most of us are not. The important thing is do what you love. If you want a theme party do it, and if you want an intimate dinner then have at it. You are in the driver"s seat. The important piece is to plan. Never be afraid of too much planning but do not let the planning take away the fun. Stay flexible. Intensity - Not all exercise needs to be intense, but some of it definitely should. Make sure that at least some of what you"re doing for movement challenges you physically - it"s how you will improve your physiology. This could mean adding sprinting, or burst training, or even just revving things up enough to break a sweat. If you enjoy music why not head for a bandshell or other outdoor festival wristbands. If you love to dance you could hit the local clubs, or find a band or artist around the town that you haven"t yet heard. Many restaurants also offer entertainment in their bar areas. Change the music that you listen to, get out and experience many different types of music; jazz, blues, long-hair, big band, singer-songerwriter, pop, rock....keep it interesting. There will be experts sharing tips on how to create positive lifestyle changes and reduce stress. Visitors can also take part in medical testing which will be free. After reading all this, you might be assuming that Healthy Living Festival is a boring, lecture-event wristbands. But it will be lots of fun as well. You can participate in a yoga class, relax with a massage and watch top chefs preparing healthy, nutritious dishes in front of you. And yes, you can watch a belly dancing show as well. Do you still think this event could be boring? Tailgating is simply getting up plenty of brochures, samples and any products you may have on hand. Get together plenty of kits or mini kits and take them with you. Create signs that say "FREE AVON" one someone comes up and asks what you mean by free AVON tell them you have free brochures and samples. Finish it off by letting them know you are giving full size products for anyone who joins AVON today. Let them know it"s only $10 and there are no quotas. Even if they aren"t interested give them the opportunity to earn their products at a discount just buy opening an AVON account for themselves! Many will find this as a way to save money and then in return become a rep and most likely start selling to others! Get ready for the largest 3-day Oktoberfest by joining hundreds and thousands of revelers at the La Mesa Oktoberfest. Set to take place during the first weekend of October i.e from th to th October at the Spring sport wristbands Street and La Mesa Blvd La Mesa Oktoberfest is expecting around visitors this year. A more conservative but nonetheless fun party outfit is bohemian. Bohemian is a hippy culture that has been around for a long time but one that has not lost its touch among lovers of rock music and live bands. In bohemian outfits, people wear vests, sandals, and clothing with patchworks. This type of clothing is not difficult to find because of its popularity. Whether one is having a nice time enjoying rock bands in Paris or in the US, the bohemian is an attractive party outfit. True to it"s name, the bar is a few hundred feet west of South Broadway Street. Crime can be thick in this part of St. Louis, so be observant and don"t flash wads of cash to random dudes hangin" out in alleys. My first introduction to the venue was when a friend informed me she had been robbed walking from her car into the bar. Her sob story had a positive twist though, because the bartenders at Off Broadway fed her free drinks all night!

Health authorities target birth defects, say domestic drugs would cost less

Health authorities will step up efforts to reduce the incidence of rare diseases and improve diagnosis and treatment, a senior health official said ahead of Rare Disease Day, which falls on the last day of February.

"We will try to further reduce inherited birth defects that lead to rare diseases," Jiao Yahui, deputy chief of medical administration and supervision at the National Health Commission, said at a news conference on Wednesday.

"Meanwhile, we will intensify the diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases by enhancing the role played by internet technology."

The commission has established a national computerized system to register diagnosis and treatment information on rare diseases, and big data technology is being used to promote research on the diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases in China, she said.

There is no official figure on the number of people with rare diseases in the country. Although incidence is low by definition, the absolute number of such people in China is large, considering the size of the total population, Jiao said.

Worldwide, there are different definitions for rare diseases. In the United States, diseases with an incidence of less than two in 10,000 are regarded as rare, Jiao said.

Zhang Shuyang, vice-president of the China Alliance of Rare Diseases and vice-president of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, estimates the total number of such people in China exceeds 20 million.

There are nearly 7,000 identified rare diseases worldwide, she said, but while the rate of having one is low, there may still be many patients.

Jiao said the diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases is a thorny issue worldwide, and effective means of diagnosis and drugs are lacking for many of them, partly due to the smaller patient pool, which discourages pharmaceutical companies from researching and developing drugs to treat them.

Last year, China released for the first time a list of 121 rare diseases, including albinism and young-onset Parkinson"s disease. The list will be expanded as diagnoses improve, she said.

To improve diagnosis and treatment of such patients, the commission has established a hospital network comprising more than 300 top-tier recommended hospitals across the country, Jiao said.

"Many rare diseases are also inherited," she said. "We will continue to improve pre-pregnancy and pre-birth checkups, as well as disease screening for pregnant women, to reduce the occurrence of rare diseases in newborns."

Zhang said intensifying research and development is crucial for diagnosis and treatment of such diseases.

"Worldwide, effective drugs are available for only 5 percent of all the rare diseases," she said. "In China, most of the related drugs are imported and are very expensive."

The recent decision by the central government to reduce value-added taxes for 21 drugs targeting rare diseases could make them more affordable, but only domestic production will effectively reduce the prices, she said, adding that more efforts should be made to encourage domestic pharmaceutical companies to develop them.
